J’avais un petit probl\u00e8me tr\u00e8s \u00e9nervant en tapant des sms \/ textos sur mon portable Samsung (S7550): impossible d’ins\u00e9rer certaines lettres avec des accents circonflexes ou des tr\u00e9mas (\u00ea, \u00eb, \u00ef, etc.), donc d’\u00e9crire de simples mots comme “t\u00eate” ou “No\u00ebl” correctement.<\/p>\n

Je m’\u00e9tais presque r\u00e9solu \u00e0 cette bizarrerie incompr\u00e9hensible, jusqu’\u00e0 ce que je tombe sur la solution: les portables Samsung (le mien en tous cas) semblent configur\u00e9s par d\u00e9faut pour utiliser un “alphabet GSM” qui ne contient apparemment pas les lettres avec accents circonflexes et tr\u00e9mas. La solution se trouve sous:<\/p>\n

Menu -> Messages -> Param\u00e8tres -> SMS -> Options d’envoi -> Alphabet<\/p>\n

Remplacer “alphabet GSM” par “UNICODE” ou mieux: “Automatique” dans le menu d\u00e9roulant, et le tour est jou\u00e9!<\/p>\n

Le probl\u00e8me de l’option UNICODE est que le nombre plus grand de caract\u00e8res disponibles implique un codage qui prend plus de “place”, ce qui r\u00e9duit la longueur d’un sms \u00e0 70 caract\u00e8res au lieu des 160 habituels. Pas vraiment id\u00e9al pour qui tape de longs sms…! Avec l’option “automatique”, tous les caract\u00e8res sont disponibles mais le t\u00e9l\u00e9phone d\u00e9tecte automatiquement en cours de frappe si vous utilisez un caract\u00e8re “hors alphabet GSM” (notamment les lettres avec accents circonflexes – \u00e2, \u00ea, \u00ee, \u00f4, \u00fb – ainsi que le \u00eb et le \u00ef, ou encore le \u00e7 – bien que le \u00c7 majuscule, pour une raison myt\u00e9rieuse, y figure) et passe le sms en format Unicode (70 caract\u00e8res). Si vous n’utilisez aucun de ces caract\u00e8res “sp\u00e9ciaux” (pourtant courants en fran\u00e7ais…), le SMS reste un SMS normal (160 caract\u00e8res).<\/p>\n
